Shepard Ager first joined IronVest Partners in 2018 as an associate salesperson specializing in the representation of buyer and seller clients, seeking end-use, development, and investment opportunities. He has since then expanded his role as Vice President of Sales as an expert in site sourcing on behalf of national residential and retail developers across the country. On behalf of his residential clients, Shepard assists his clients in sourcing sites for projects that consist of: single-family BFR, townhomes, traditional multifamily, age-restricted, senior living, student housing, and high rise. Shepard assists his retail clients seeking both multi and single-tenant net lease development opportunities.
As a Birmingham native, witnessing the revitalization of Birmingham led Shepard to focus his efforts in Birmingham’s urban core. Shepard’s passion for building new relationships and serving others, in combination with his ability to orchestrate deals & recruit projects, aided in his role of specializing in buyer representation. Shepard’s drive, ultimately contributed to his in-depth knowledge of both the on-and-off market of properties in Birmingham’s urban core. This has allowed him to recruit developers to Birmingham and create projects varying in size from adaptive reuse of multistory warehouses to the ground-up development of 300+ unit market-rate multifamily projects.
Shepard, his wife Sally, and their children Virginia, John Shepard, Whit, and Price live in Vestavia. They attend church at All Saints Episcopal Church in Homewood. Shepard also has a strong passion for the outdoors. In March and April, when not in the office, you can find Shepard spending his mornings in the woods turkey hunting and his nights at home in the doghouse for spending too much time in the woods.
Shepard received a marketing degree from the University of Mississippi.
