Birmingham Warehouse Sells For $2,625,000

Birmingham, Ala. – Evans Meats, LLC purchased a 116,000 square-foot warehouse building at 2800 Messer Airport Highway in Birmingham, Alabama from Billboard Fund 1, LLC and Good Things, LLC on September 17. This property sold for $2,625,000.

“We’ve been in our current space since 1998, added on 3 or 4 times, and have reached maximum capacity for this location,” said Addam Evans. This prompted the search for a bigger location to house its employees. This new building has enough space to meet its current needs and has space for the company to grow into.

Evans Meats & Seafood is a fresh meat, seafood, and specialty foods company that services restaurants and institutions across the Southeast. It currently has 135 employees and projects to add twenty more by 2030.

“It’s important to us to be a part of the community and to be in the mix of the city,” said Evans. He mentions that the new location is great for distribution. It’s convenient for the employees and it’s a couple blocks from downtown, right on the edge of the expressway. This makes it convenient for local deliveries and provides great access to the interstates,” said Evans.

The owner was attracted to this space because of the community surrounding Birmingham. “I’ve wanted to do business in Birmingham my whole life. As a kid I used to ride to Birmingham with my granddad who owned Daniel Metals. I remember driving in on the interstate and looking for the skyline – I couldn’t wait to see it. So, I always wanted to be a part of it. We love the city and want to be part of Birmingham’s continued transformation and progress. This is a long-term plan – we’re investing in this company for the next generation,” said Evans.

The building currently has over 116,000 square-feet. Evans Meats plans to build out about 70,000 square-feet in their renovation and plans to move in by early spring of 2026. This new facility will allow them to create a space that meets the current needs and future vision of the company. Rader McCary will be the general contractor for this project.

“I’m excited to have the ability to design and build a warehouse and office that both flow the way our business needs to function efficiently,” said Evans.

Evans Meats and Seafood is also known for its retail concept, Son of a Butcher, located in Birmingham’s very own Pepper Place.
