Birmingham Music Venue WorkPlay Sold for $3.6M 

WorkPlay has a new owner! WorkPlay Properties, LLC purchased a 29,418 square-foot music venue at 500 23rd Street South & 2228 5th Ave S in Birmingham, Alabama from WorkPlay Realty, LLC on October 25. This property sold for $3,600,000.  

WorkPlay is a performance venue and creative space for musicians, filmmakers and industry-related professionals to both work and play. Combining the most dynamic audio equipment, concert hall acoustics, state-of-the-art lighting, and expandable, multi-tiered cabaret seating, WorkPlay Theatre is a performance space unrivaled in the Southeast. 

“We’ve had it for 12 fantastic years, and then we decided to bring it back. It was time for a change, and the new owners, who happen to be music enthusiasts, are planning some exciting renovations to take it to the next level. We’re pleased to have sold it to them. They know their stuff, and they’re going to ensure that WorkPlay continues to thrive,” said Tom Williams.  

Over the years, WorkPlay has hosted the likes of: Bob Dylan, Maroon 5, Jason Isbell, and Zac Brown.
